How HandyTix Box Office Software Works for You
HandyTix is a web based ticketing system where that all the main program files and database are hosted on our servers which means you don't need to install any operating system software. All you need to install are a few files which enable secure log in access for users of the program.
HandyTix runs independently of browsers such as Internet Explorer or Firefox as it uses its own Web interface. This help to avoid accidental shut downs and potential incompatibility issues with different Web browsers or PCs.
You just need a PC with Windows operating system installed (unfortunately at this stage our system is not compatible with Apple PCs)and a high speed internet connection. Plus you will also require a ticket printer to print your tickets.
Selling tickets or accessing any of the administrative functions requires a user to firstly log in with their user name and password. The customer interface that then appears it is a familiar Windows style interface with drop down menus for all main functions.
You can give any number of users access to the system. They can sell tickets, enter details of auditoriums/venues, programs, events, prices program notes etc. User access to specific functions or features of the program can be restricted on a user by user basis as required within the administrative function by a senior administrator.
Ticket Sales
There are several ways to sell tickets through the system:
1. Box-office ticket sellers who can be your own employees or third-party personnel. The ticket seller logs into the system and takes payment by cash, cheque or credit cards. All credit card data can be processed live. You can select specific seats off a seating chart or you optionally use the "best available" seat selection method for quick seat selection and sale. Tickets can be printed immediately or at a later time if required.
2. By any user/administrator logged into the system. They can directly enter credit card details which are processed live. These can see all programs and events in the database but can be restricted to selling tickets to specific venues, programs or events. Operators can take bookings by phone or mail order.
3. By any "network" user logged into the system who can also directly enter credit card details to be processed live. With this type of ticket seller, the user is is only able to access the ticket sales menu and no other parts of the program. The network user can also be restricted from seeing or selling tickets to specific venues, programs or events.
4. Online. Online customers can select either specific seats from an interactive seating chart or optionally choose the "best available" seat selection. Customers can optionally be offered the choice of printing bar coded PDF tickets, or receiving their tickets by post or receiving an email with a unique voucher number which they exchange for tickets prior at the venue.
4. Tickets can be printed and consigned to resellers or agents who must then either sell the tickets or return them by a specific date. The ticketing software can record and reconcile any commissions paid to agents/resellers.
Interactive Seating Charts
Seating charts for reserved seating venues are drawn up by our support personnel. They provide a realistic representation of your venue and can be divided in to various sections as required such as Stalls, Circle Balcony. Seating charts can also be used to sell tickets to function such as fund raising dinners, theatre restaurants etc where there is table and chair seating.
Customers purchasing tickets online can reserve seats by clicking on the specific seat required from the web interface. For box-office staff, they can use the same interactive charts to check details of any ticket sold (price, name of purchaser, date sold, reseller's name), to see the status of any seat (sold, reserved, consigned etc), to locate seats purchased by customer name, and to see which seats have been sold by individual resellers.
Payment Processing
Credit card payments are normally processed by a 3rd party Payment Gateway which directly links to your financial institution's merchant account, so you are credited with the full ticket revenue immediately a sale is made and the credit card transaction approved. HandyTix is compatible with all the major Payment Gateways such as Authorize.net, First Data etc. as well as PayPal (Standard or Web Payments Pro).
All users of the HandyTix system can enter credit card information when selling tickets.
Ticket Printing & Design
Tickets can be printed with thermal ticket printers such as Boca or Practical Automation, or alternatively can be printed on A4 or Letter sized paper, typically with 4 tickets per page using a standard laser or inkjet printer.
Online customers can be given the option of printing bar coded PDF tickets at home.
All tickets are completely customizable in design. You can add graphics, text, shapes and logos, which can be positioned as you wish on the ticket. You can choose which data fields (price, tax, customer name, email address, ticket type etc) you want printed on the tickets.
All tickets are printed with unique barcodes which can be used for scanning and verification at your venue entrance.
Customer Database
Customer names are recorded in the main database for all online transactions and can be input manually by system users when making a sale. You can send emails directly from the database to your customers informing them of upcoming events etc. |
